The invention relates to the interior lining of the passenger compartments of motor vehicles. A door lining consists of a front shell 1 and a rear shell 2. The front shell 1 contains a recess through which the rear shell 2 engages and thus forms a part of the visible surface of the lining. The visible part of the rear shell 2 is provided with a lamination 3. By this means, linings with regions of different coloration or different surface materials are possible, a neat and exact delimitation existing between the individual regions. Because of the two-layer construction of the lining, its stability is also increased. The mouldings can be joined by form-fitting or by adhesion. <IMAGE>
