For the mould release of building components (17) cast in open moulds (9), a device with a first conveyor installation (1) is proposed, by means of which the compartments of the moulds (9) containing the building components (17) are taken in a timed cycle to a building component-lifting station (12). In the lifting station (12), the building components (17) are released from the mould compartment and then passed to a mould release device (21). From there, the building components (17) now separated from one another pass to a second conveyor installation (32), which tranports them out of the plane (9). The device is designed as a part section in a building component-casting plant, in which the transport means for the casting device, the temporary storage and the mould release device are each designed for separate drives. <IMAGE>
