<p>The arrangement comprises a gearing unit (23) operatively connected to an electric motor (22), a rotator (21) operatively connected to output shaft means (36) of the gearing unit (23), and a bar (18) movable between a locking and an unlocking position to engage with and disengage from a reception recess (11) on a steering shaft (10) depending upon the rotational position of the rotator (21). Operation of the arrangement is controlled by a combined electronic and electric control circuit. The control circuit (40 to 47) includes several safety means adapted for co-operation with a conventional engine ignition circuit (90), an engine-running sensor (941), and a vehicle-running sensor (98), for assuring proper and safe co-operation between these components.</p> |
