ELECTRIC CHARGE APPLYING MATERIAL FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE

PURPOSE:To obtain an electric charge applying material which applies adequate negative charge to a toner by incorporating the metallic complex of hexahydroanthranilic acid or the alkyl deriv. of the hexahydroanthranilic acid. CONSTITUTION:The charge applying material has at least the metallic complex of the hexahydroanthranilic acid or the alkyl deriv. of the hexahydroanthranilic acid. on the surface. For example, the Ni complex of the hexahydroanthranilic acid is obtd. by Dieckmann condensation of a pimelic acid to obtain 2- oxocyclohexane carboxylic acid, then acting ammonia thereto to obtain 2- amino-1-cyclohexane carboxylic acid and further subjecting the same to catalytic reduction to obtain the hexahydroanthranilic acid. The metallic complex thereof is obtd. by dissolving or dispersing the acid and nickelous chloride into methanol. Such complex compd. is coated together with a binder on a base material or if the base material consists of a granular carrier, the coating layer of the complex compd. is formed on the base material.
