The mould assembly affords great energy savings and has a low manufacturing cost, and consists of a mould comprising a male plug (1) and a female mould portion (2), each formed from a synthetic resin resistant to the temperature of the sintering steam, and within which resin is located a plurality of ducts (4,5) in communication with the moulding space (54) for the polystyrene pellets, through holes provided in foraminous (capsules) pads (7), said ducts (4,5) being connected to a header designed to supply and/or discharge various fluids to and from the moulding space (54), via valved pipes for supplying heating fluid (steam), cooling fluid (water), for applying a vacuum, for supplying air for detaching the moulded article, and for venting the mould during filling with the pellets. <IMAGE> |
