An inlay part or an insole with integrated inlay part of a flexible, elastic material for support of the foot in a shoe, especially for rehabilitation purposes, is to be improved such that the wearer cannot assume any relieving posture, that the knee, the outer ligaments and the inner meniscus are relieved and that, moreover, twisting is prevented. This is achieved in that the inlay part (1) or the inlay part integrated in an insole (2) reaches from the tip of the foot (3) down to the region (4) from the first fifth up to the middle or up to four fifths of the metatarsus. The limiting line (6) is formed roughly from the fourth toe up to just before the basal joint of the big toe (9) by a cut-out (5) or depression approximately shaped like a quarter circle. A cut-out (13) or depression approximately shaped like an U or a semi-ellipse is provided behind the basal joint of the big toe (10) for the ball of the big toe (11). Furthermore, the inlay part (1) is recessed to the extent of 10% to 25% in the region (15) of the metatarsus (16) on the inner side of the foot (8). The cross-section of the inlay part (1) tapers, on the one hand, from the outer side of the foot (7) to the inner side of the foot (8) from 2 mm to 6 mm virtually to zero and, on the other hand, in the region (19) from the front to the back of the beginning of the metatarsus (16) towards the back virtually to zero, too (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
