The invention is a further development of the sighting and aligning pole according to application P 3505049.7/G 8504107.6. The further development consists in that the foot piece is of two parts and has a spring element, that the markings for the wall layer heights are also arranged at the head piece, that a step for foot actuation is mounted at the foot end of the sighting and aligning pole and that caps having the cross-section of the base element are attached to the outer ends of the head piece and foot piece. The advantage of the invention lies in that the sighting and aligning pole is used more easily and more accurately.
