The discharge method is for particulate material from a centrifugal crusher, which comprises a rotor (11) with a series of peripheral discharge ports and an annular crushing chamber (12). Material fed to the rotor centrifuges trangentially outward, and collides with a dead-bed formed by heaped particulate. The particulate produced by collision with the dead-bed is discharged either continuously or periodically from the crushing chamber, after remaining long enough in the chamber to act as the dead-bed. A cylindrical partition plate can be provided at the rotor periphery. The particulate heap is discharged as the partition plate or the floor plate is moved vertically.
