The subject of the invention is a device with movable flaps for preventing dazzling by motor vehicle headlights, characterised in that it comprises a set of flaps consisting of plane elongate strips 6 arranged preferably vertically in front of the lens 1 of each headlight, rotationally movable about a vertical axis parallel to the long sides of the strips and synchronously controlled by suitable means 7, 11, 14, 16 so as to occupy two stable end positions, one for which they have their plane orthogonal to the general axis of the light flow and shut off part of the latter, and the other for which they have their plane parallel to the said axis.
