PURPOSE:To use a tray housing serving for both a cassette tray type and a universal tray type, by providing a plate, which is lifted by a lift plate loading papers or a cassette tray, in the tray housing and dividing the plate, having an opening part in the central part, and the plate, having no opening part, to be properly used. CONSTITUTION:Paper 9 or a cassette tray is loaded in a tray housing 1, and if thereafter a lever 6 is rotated in a direction A in the drawing, a plate 4, whose one end is rotatably supported by a pin 4a, is lifted because a protrusive part 5b of a lift plate 5 is pressed upward through an interlocking mechanism. As the result, one end part of the paper 9, loaded on the plate 4, is forced to come into contact with a paper feed roll 3. Here the cassette tray, when it is used, is vertically moved by the lift plate 5 through an opening part 4b by using the plate 4 having the opening part 4b. On the contrary, when the tray housing is used as a universal tray, the plate 4, having no opening part, is used, and said plate 4 is directly vertically moved by the lift plate 5.
