According to the invention, the device consists of modules each comprising an elongate portion 1 consisting of two electrically conductive lines 2, 3 of low electrical resistance and one electrically resistant element 4 connected at one end to one of the lines and at the other end to the other line; the said lines 2, 3 and the said resistant element 4 are inserted into an insulating sheath 5; and the two lines 2, 3 are connected at one end of the portion to separate contacts of a male electrical connector 6 and at the other end to separate contacts of a female electrical connector 7, in such a way that a plurality of modules can be connected end to end with their conducting lines 2, 3 in series. <IMAGE>
