Planetary gear unit

The planetary gear unit has a sun wheel shaft 14 which is mounted with play and is connected via a resilient connecting element 15a to a hollow shaft 16 which is mounted fixedly within the gear unit and on which is seated a driving bevel wheel 19 which meshes with a corresponding mating wheel 20. Since the sun wheel shaft 14 should be movably mounted to allow it to adjust to the planet wheels 10 in operation, the resilient connecting element 15a is provided between the sun wheel shaft 14 and the hollow shaft 16, this connecting element accepting the axial forces and at least part of the radial forces of the sun wheel shaft 14 without influencing the position of the hollow shaft 16 with the bevel wheel 19 seated thereon. This mounting arrangement is simple in terms of manufacture and does not require involved adjustment operations. <IMAGE>
