<p>PURPOSE:To accurately measure a taste value by detecting the quantity of transmitted near infrared rays and analyzing components on which the taste of rice depends, and applying taste decision coefficients which have been found from previous experiments to the analytical values of the respective components. CONSTITUTION:A sample of rice whose taste is to be measured is charged in a sample container 33, which is mounted on a measurement part 11. Detection signals of light quantity detectors 9B and 9C which detect the quantities of near infrared rays reflected and/or transmitted from the sample irradiated through a filter 6 with light from a light source 4 are sent to a controller 59. The controller 59 processes preset analytical coefficient values and said detected values to calculate the composition of each component, and the taste decision coefficient values set in the controller 59 and the said composition are processed to calculate the taste value. It is evaluated that the taste is better as the displayed numeral of the taste value measured and calculated is larger.</p> |
