In brake tests of all-wheel-driven vehicles, the problem often arises that the axle of the brake to be tested cannot be decoupled. Additional torques are transmitted into the axle to be tested via the cardan shaft and falsify the measurement result. In the main patent, it is proposed for this purpose to drive the two wheels of such an axle in opposite directions, to measure the speed of revolution of both wheels at the circumference and to keep the speeds the same by controlling the drive motors of the brake test stand. The measurement accuracy is improved in that the angle of rotation of both wheels is measured, compared and the values used for adjustment. This measurement and control method can be used in particular also additionally for controlling on the basis of the measurement of the circumferential speed of the wheel.
