PURPOSE:To perform the optimum correction of a write data at every area of a disk, by generating a large number of delay signals having different delay quantities based on an input write data, and performing time correction by selecting the delay signal corresponding to the position of a magnetic head on a magnetic medium. CONSTITUTION:A pattern recognition judging circuit 21 judges the necessity of the correction based on the data pattern of the write data, and generates a bit of time correction information corresponding to the above judgement, and outputs it to a multiplexer 26. Meanwhile, a delay circuit 22 inputs the write data W, and generates a large number of delay signals having different delay quantities. A data select circuit 23 selects signals E and L to be outputted from the delay signals E1-E3 and L1-L3 to the multiplexer 26 respectively based on a position signal outputted from a CPU25. Therefore, the multiplexer 26 selects the delay signals L, N, and E respectively when each of the time correction information (signal A - signal C) is set at an (H), and generates the write data D on which the time correction is applied. In such a way, it is possible to perform the optimum correction of the write data on every area of the disk.
