The casing may retain batteries of differing size and has an aperture for the battery insertion. The casing (1) dimensions are rated for accepting batteries (62) of the largest type. The inserting aperture can be closed by a lid (5), and a battery holder (1) can be shifted in one of several positions according to the battery size. Thus it forms an appropriate space for the inserted battery between the lid and itself. The battery holder, in at least some positions, is latchable by a locking device, actuated by a scanning device (39,40) protruding into the casing and contacting the surface of the inserted battery. |
