METHOD OF EXFALIATING COATING OF COATES OPTICAL FIBEN AND EXFOLIATING TOOL THEREOF

The method includes producting a crack in the coating layer of the optical fiber by bending. The coating is cleaved into several strip pieces while longitudinally enlarging the crack. The strip pieces are then cut with an exfoliating tool. The exfoliating tool is constructed to cleave the coating layer of the optical fiber and to cut the cleaved strip pieces. It does not damage the optical fiber upon exfoliating of the coating layer from the coated optical fiber, and can efficiently exfoliate the coating of the optical fiber.
