For the stepwise feeding of in particular strip-shaped material, a roller feeding device with at least one roller pair is proposed, of which at least one roller 2 is driven in oscillation and one of the rollers 1 is fixed to be displaceable at a variable distance from the opposite roller 2 of the same roller pair, in such a way that upon movement of the rollers 1, 2 in one direction the distance between the two rollers 1, 2 is minimal and upon movement in the opposite direction the distance is increased and at the same time a gripper 7 which secures the strip-like material is activated. <IMAGE>
