This pick up can be used on measurement objects of the most varied type with only a few constructional measures. The displacement pick up is characterised by two Hall sensors (11, 12) which are arranged at a distance (16) from one another which exceeds the measuring range (17) on an imaginary axis (14-15) at a particular distance (20) parallel to the axis of movement (18-19) of a permanent magnet (13), and by formation of the analogue electric output signal from the difference of the absolute values of the Hall voltages of the two Hall sensors. <IMAGE>
