The invention relates to a steering shaft for motor vehicles comprising at least one outer shaft part (1) and at least one inner shaft part (2), which telescopically engage one inside the other in a longitudinal direction and are positively connected to one another by roller elements (3) for the transmission of a torque, the roller elements, in the telescopic movement, rolling on tracks formed by cross-sectional profiling of the shaft parts and extending in a longitudinal direction on the circumference of the shaft parts. The roller elements comprise rollers, which are arranged with their longitudinal axes transversely to the telescoping direction between shaft parts of extrudable bar profiles with plane surfaces, which on the outside of the inner shaft part (2) and on the inside of the outer shaft part (1) form pairs of equidistant tracks (7, 8) for the rollers (3).
