The present invention relates to a method for conveying heat from the earth's interior to the earth's surface. This object is achieved by the method and by using a thermopipe known per se. In the prior art, there have repeatedly been problems with the pump system which is required to pump the water, employed as energy carrier, in a circuit. The invention remedies this by providing fluid medium in the lower region of a thermopipe reaching into the earth's interior and known per se and applying to the pipe such a vacuum that the fluid medium is converted into the gaseous state and maintained therein, in which the evaporation heat is permanently supplied by heat from the earth and is permanently discharged in the upper region of the pipe by a heat exchanger. <IMAGE>
