The invention relates to a device making it possible to deliver information or advertising messages to the passengers waiting for their public transport vehicle at the stops on the line. It consists of a mobile infrared transmitter assembly 1 fixed in the public transport vehicle 3 and of an infrared receiver unit 2 which is placed especially at the stops of the transport line 4. The mobile infrared transmitter 1 produces coded transmissions 10 intended for the receiver unit 2. The receiver unit 2 consists of an infrared receiver 5, of a sound sensor 6 which detects the noise of the engine 9 of the transmitting vehicle 3 and alerts the infrared receiver 5, making it able to receive the coded infrared transmission 10 of a decoder 7 which reproduces the information on a light panel 8. <IMAGE>
