<p>A process for coating a tundish for continuous metal casting, in particular, for steel casting, according to which the refractory wear-resistant coating layer is applied in an aqueous form, characterized in that said wear-resistant refractory coating is composed of crude natural dolomite or crude natural calcite or a mixture thereof, in that its grain size is between 0 and 5 mm, in that it incorporates within the coating a binder in the proportions 0.5 to 5 % by weight and a mineral or organic plasticizer in the proportions of 0.2 to 3 % by weight, and in that decarbonization of the coating is effected after application, during drying and curing thereof. The invention also concerns a tundish having such a coating as well as the refractory coating itself.</p> |
