BELT FOR PAPERMAKING MACHINES

A belt for wet presses of papermaking machines, in particular with an extended compression slit, has a flexible belt layer impermeable to liquids and smooth on its back side and with a support track such as a fabric, knit or a wirelink belt being integrated but only in part on the front side of the belt layer which furthermore contains longitudinal threads extending in the direction of advance. The longitudinal threads essentially extend between the support track and the back side of the belt, and are linked in tractionproof manner at their ends. The longitudinal threads may consist of at least one single thread wound in coiling manner in the direction of advance and progressing transversely to that direction.
