PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional object detection device and a three-dimensional object detection method capable of improving reliability of detection of the three-dimensional object.SOLUTION: A detection control part of a three-dimensional object detection device can detect a three-dimensional object based on a detection result by a first detection part having high reliability, since a road surface can be detected in a range where the road surface can be detected by the first detection part, so that the three-dimensional object can be accurately detected. The detection control part detects a three-dimensional object based on a detection result by the first detection part having low reliability and based on a detection result by a second detection part using a millimeter wave radar having high reliability, since the road surface cannot be detected in a range where the road surface cannot be detected by the first detection part, so that the three-dimensional object can be accurately detected even in a range where the road surface cannot be detected by the first detection part.
