The subject of the present invention relates to a novel method for assembly by screwing and to connections for pipelines for transporting fluid implementing this method. A connector includes a male fitting (13) and a female fitting (14); the male fitting includes a cylindrical part (2) which includes at least two male screw-threaded parts (11) and at least two male surfaces (9) arranged alternately. The female fitting (14) includes, on the internal face of its bore, at least two female screw-threaded parts (12) and at least two female surfaces (10), such that the female fitting can slide over a portion of the cylindrical part (2), around the male fitting. The technical field of the invention is that of mechanical connections designed for fitting connectors for fluid pipelines. <IMAGE>
