The hydraulic separator has three concentric pipes (44, 45, 48), pref. at right angles to the line of symmetry of its connectors (2, 3). A reverse flow preventer at the inlet side is formed from an upper pre-pressure, blocking piston (140) and a lower piston (163), which also forms the opening valve for emptying the central zone (176). The top blocking piston is subjected to atmos. pressure and to the pre-pressure on its upper and lower sides respectively in the unloaded state. The bottom and top respectively of the lower piston are subjected to atmos. pressure and, in the flow position, to the pressure of the medium.
