Agitator drive unit for a mixing machine, having a circular section mixing chamber for mixing of granular, powder, and liquid components, preferably for the prodn. of concrete, and having at least one spinner to improve the mixing efficiency. The spinner is propelled via the agitator drive, by the spinner being attached to a rotatable shaft to which is further attached a drive wheel, mounted on a mixer arm, and with the drive wheel engaging a fixed locus drive band. The fixed locus drive band can take the form of either a belt or chain, engaging pulleys or sprocket wheels respectively.
