Ball valve with a plastic lined metal casing for use in the beverage and food industyr is produced by embedding the metal ball and drive spindle in the metal casing by injection moulding of a plastic, pref. a fluorocarbon type. Metal ring with an inner dished plate improves the sealing action. The spindle is sealed by a recess left in the plastic which is filled by a ring of pure graphite and compressed by a washer and nut.
