The surgical instrument is for use in cholangiography. It consists of a guide tube (11) which encloses a catheter (12) which can be moved axially and rotated inside the guide tube. The catheter (12) extends through an external connector (14) and the connector end cap (15) and the free end of the catheter is clamped to a slider (17) which can slide on the guide tube. By moving the slider (17) along the guide tube (11) the catheter can be moved axially relative to the guide tube in the direction opposite to the direction of movement of the slider. USE/ADVANTAGE - For carrying out operations on the gall bladder under X-ray observation. The movement of the inner end of the catheter is accurately controlled by the slider (17).
