The flipper is in the form of a layered structure of glass and carbon fibre, impregnated with a low-viscosity epoxy resin and moulded onto a template before the start of polymerisation. The material can be coloured in the mass, leaving an upper surface which is both translucent and reflective. The outer edge of the flipper can be convex in shape, with a radius of curvature of between 55 and 60 cm, with an optimum radius of 57.5 cm. In variants the edge can be formed by three adjoining straight lines, or by a concave curve. ADVANTAGE - Greater strength and improved performance.
