FEED TUBE FOR A DISPENSER OF POTABLE LIQUID

A feed tube for a dispenser of potable liquid having an inverted seat adapted to receive a neck of an inverted bottle. The seat has a fluid flow channel extending therethrough in which the feed tube is positioned. The feed tube includes an outer tubular member having a first end adapted for attachment to a dispenser, a second end, and an interior bore. An inner tubular member is provided having a first end telescopically received within the interior bore at the second end of the outer tubular member, a closed second end, and a blind bore extending from the first end to the closed second end. At least one fluid flow passage is positioned adjacent the second end of the inner tubular member whereby liquid communicates with the blind bore. The inner tubular member is telescopically movable between an extended position in which the second end of the inner tubular member extends from the outer tubular member thereby permitting liquid to flow freely through the fluid flow passages and a retracted position in which the fluid flow passages at the second end of the inner tubular member are obstructed by the outer tubular member.
