Dual circuit heating system for range of IC engined vehicles

The dual circuit heating system for a public service, private or industrial vehicle has a fuel-burning heater unit (3) for warming a working fluid common to both circuits supplied by the engine cooling water. The main circuit comprises the water pump (7), IC engine (1), out/return conduits (2,6), heater unit (3) and its associated heat-exchanger (5) for warming the vehicle interior.An auxiliary circuit (10,11) with a separate pump (4) is connected in parallel with the main circuit via a combination 2-way (8)/non-return (9) balancing valve assembly which is a passive self-regulating device operated by differential pressure/temperature such as to optimise the flows indicated by the single and double-headed arrows
