In the case of a potentiometer, in particular a movement sensor or angle sensor for moving parts, drives (transmissions) and the like having a resistor track and possibly a collector track and having a wiper which can move relative thereto, it is proposed to provide two potentiometer main parts, whose dimensions are essentially of the same size, in the form of a rotor (which is designed as a toothed wheel and receives its measurement movement by direct operative connection to a mating toothed wheel of the transmission or other mechanical drive) and a stator which is assigned to the rotor and is stationary relative thereto and relative to the moving drive, one of the potentiometer main parts being used as a support for the wiper and the other as a support or bearing for the resistor track (22) and, possibly, the collector track, and the stator being mounted by means of the rotor.
