Electronically controlled safety binding for ski and snow-boards

The binding has electrical sensors, which allow it to be released electronically, and mechanical release springs for mechanical release. It is made up of a head (1) and a heel grip unit (2). The toe unit of the head and the liftable part of the heel unit operate a locking lever via a sprung bolt. This bolt is also connected to a piezo crystal. It can thus be operated electronically or mechanically. The piezo crystal measures forces on the binding. When a force, or combination of forces, exceeds or falls below a preset or calculated value, an explosive charge is activated to release the binding.
