The hook-shaped arms (2) are to be secured in the blood vessel etc. wall and a contractor (7) pulls them radially together after securing. Pref. the contractor is a slide sleeve. At their free ends (17) the arms are typically pointed. In a direction opposite to the free ends, the arms may comprise opposite hooks (6). The oppositely directed hooks may be formed on the outwards pointing side of the arms and may be formed by oblique incisions. There may be arresters for the contractor sleeve. From a no-load state the arms extend first in a concave curve outwards, with convex bend joining the curve.
