PURPOSE:To provide a peeling member securing good separation performance and not disturbing an image on a recording material by forming the peeling member with a semiconducting resin having a specific resistance value, and electrically grounding it. CONSTITUTION:When the transfer is completed prescribed times and a recording material is rotated to approach pushing-up rollers 8b, 8c, the pushing-up roller 8b is driven by a driving means, and a transfer sheet 5f is pushed up to a separating claw 8a side serving as a peeling member. The separating claw 8a is operated by a driving means nearly synchronously with this timing, and it is lowered toward the transfer sheet 5f. The tip of the separating claw 8a is prevented from 'damaging the transfer sheet 5f. A separating charge remover 5h makes an electric discharge to assist separation during the separating action, neutralizes the ions generated by the peeling discharge with the recording material transfer sheet 5f, and prevents the occurrence of a discharge irregularity. The separating claw 8a is made of a semiconducting resin dispersed with carbon in a polyester resin and having the resistance value of 10<3>10<11>OMEGA, and it is electrically grounded.
