The lever drive mechanism has a drive lever (7,7') having a pair of toothed drive rods (29,30,29',30') extending in the pivoting direction (S). The drive rods have blocking teeth formations (31,32,31',32') facing in opposite directions (S1,S2). A locking gear wheel (36,36') fitted to the hub (23) of the driven vehicle (rear wheel 5, main wheels (77,78) engages in the two toothed formations. The individual teeth (rollers 41,41') of the gear wheel are displaceable in the radial direction and are radially spring loaded.
