Automatic cartridge changing arrangement, e.g. for magnetic disc drive system

The automatic mechanism is used for changing recording medium cassettes (10), that are located within a holder (1) within the disc drive unit. Pins are mounted (2-5) on both sides of the holder and are asymmetrically positioned and engage a holder gripper mechanism for handling purposes. A leaf spring (13) is used to retain the disc cassette within the holder and a spring loaded flap closes the entrance when the cassette is fully inserted. The pins locate also in guide track slots to ensure that good alignment is obtained as the holder moves between loaded and unloaded positions.
