PURPOSE: To provide a spinning reel capable of reducing a power required for winding up the reel by using a handle. CONSTITUTION: In this spinning reel equipping the major body of a reel 2 having a rod fitting part 2b, a handle shaft 10 supported by the major body of the reel 2 as freely rotatable, a spool 4, a rotor 3, a face gear 11, a pinion gear 12 and a level winding mechanism 6, the face gear 11 has a disc-like major body 11a and teeth parts 11b formed at one of the radial side wall part of the major body 11a, the pinion gear 12 is geared with the face gear 11 and at the same time linked to the rotor 3. The level winding mechanism 6 contains a screw shaft 21 rotated by the pinion gear 12, and has <=85mm leg displacement from the center of the shaft of a handle shaft 10 to a fitting surface 2c of the pole fitting part 2b and the outer diameter of the face gear 11 of >=40% based on the leg displacement. |
