PURPOSE: To accurately deliver the content of a received message with a small data quantity by displaying image data corresponding to a specific keyword detected from the received message data onto a display means together with the message data. CONSTITUTION: A pager 1 is made up of an antenna 11, a reception section 12, a CD-ROM 13, a decoder section 14, a control section 15, a ROM 16, a RAM 17, a key input section 18, a display section 19, a speaker 20, an LED 21, a CD-ROM driver 22 and an image input terminal 23. Then the control section 15 detects a specific keyword in the received message data in the cell reception processing to allow the CD-ROM driver 22 to read image data corresponding to the keyword through the retrieval out of the CD-ROM 8 and a still image and a moving image based on the image data read together with the received message are displayed on the display section 19 to inform of the arrival of an incoming call.
