PURPOSE: To make the change tendency of a signal waveform easily and intuitively under standable by dividing digital waveform data into a plurality of time divisions, and identifying and displaying display points in a plurality of display division corresponding to a time division based on the presence frequency of data point in every time division. CONSTITUTION: An analog input signal applied to an input terminal 10 is adjusted to a proper amplitude by an input circuit 12, converted into digital waveform data by an ADC 14, and stored at a waveform memory 16. The waveform data are subjected to operation processing by a system memory 22 according to the control of a microprocessorμP20 via a bus 18 as needed and the data or waveform data read from the memory 16 are transferred to a display memory of a display circuit 24 and are displayed as a waveform display or other information displays on the screen of a display 26. An operator controls the operation of a digital oscilloscope via an operation panel 28.
