A length of busbar 1 carries elongate conductors 2,3,4,5 extending beyond the end of said length and straddled by two side plates 6 and 7 which provide means on which a cover may be mounted. The side plates 6,7 are fastened to a known joint pack 2 for joining conductor lengths, with said plates extending into slots 9,10 of the pack and with plate flanges 6f, 7f attached to the bus bar. Two further side plates 6a, 7a straddle adjoining conductor lengths. The joint area is protected by the cover which is mounted to the side plates on angle brackets or by cover flanges engaging plate regions 12, 12b. Lengths of busbar are interconnected by self-piercing rivets. |
