CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK CODE PROVIDER FOR ATM

摘要

An apparatus for calculating and detecting a cyclic redundancy check code in an asychronous transfer mode system is disclosed. The apparatus for calculating and detecting the cyclic redundancy check code in the asynchronous transfer mode system comprises: a calculation means of cyclic redundancy check code for input data; a first storing means for storing the calculated cyclic redundancy check code; a selection means for selecting one of the input data from the first storing means and the calculation means of cyclic redundancy check code in response to a selection control signal of an external circuit; a second storing means for storing temporarily the input of the selection means; and a comparing means for comparing the two input values and outputting the result. Thereby, the apparatus may minimize the cost of hardware and generate CRC code within the shortest time and improve the performance of a whole system.
