Audio and-or video signal transmission method

Audio and/or video signals are transmitted via telecommunication networks from a transmission terminal to a receiver terminal. The signals to be transmitted are sampled, digitised and coded to form signal responses. The least significant bit is replaced with a signalling information bit before being transmitted. At the receiver end, the signalling information bit is removed and used to combine the useful data. The signalling information bit is replaced by the least significant bit to reform the original signal response.
