Monitoring equipment for damage on conveyor belts

The monitoring equipment includes an identification system and a U-shaped electrically conductive monitoring element transverse to the direction of conveyance. The element forms part of the belt. A frequency dependent component (C3) is connected to an oscillating circuit in a data carrier in the identification system (2) by the conductive monitoring element (3) so that it becomes part of the oscillating circuit (C1,C2,Le). When the monitoring element is damaged the frequency changes to trigger halting of the belt and signalling of the damaged element.
