The cheque production has several stages that are executed successively or in parallel. The amount of the cheque and the payee are printed onto the paper, which is pre-printed with partial information. The printing is by ink deposits and by perforations. The perforations are formed by laser, and are of known diameters and spacing, and with the laser beam at a slight inclination to the paper. The identity of the payee and the amount of the cheque are printed at least twice on the cheque, in differing printing formats. The second printing is encoded and coded to a form that is to be translated by an algorithm.
