A first transport belt transports articles at either regular or irregular intervals and for discharging the articles at a zone of transfer. A second transport belt receives articles at the zone of transfer from the first transport belt and for discharging the articles with equal spacings between the articles. An endlessly revolving articulated link chain has chain links connected to one another by articulated links. Drivers are mounted on every second articulated link of the articulated link chain.
