Hybrid gas generator

The generator has an ignitable gas-powered solid load (11) contained in a combustion chamber (10), a storage chamber (17) containing a gas which is closed by a locking element (20) and a piston (13) enclosed by the combustion chamber. The piston supports the locking element with its peripheral surface and is slidable parallel to an outlet opening (19). An outlet opening (21) for the gas mixture is located in the movement path of the peripheral surface of the piston. The outlet opening discharges the gas mixture into a mixing chamber (22).
