MULTI-LAYERED AND COLORED SHINGLE AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

A roof covering composed of a plurality of continuously manufactured, multilevelshingles, each shingle having at least two exposed layers whose granules are selected from different aggregates of colored granules. Present among at least one of theaggregates of each shingle are a multitude of granules having at least one color and/or hue thereof not present among the granules of the other aggregate of the shingle. The difference in coloration creates a pleasing color contrast and accentuates the difference in elevation between the shingle layers.
